The following players have been selected to represent Newcastle Zone at the Under 14 Kookaburra Cup to be played in Southern Highlands from 15- 17 January with the final on the 18th January.

Sydney Water Surf Life Saving series goes to round 4
The annual Sydney Water Premiership Series has been on again. Surf life savers from clubs in NSW and Queensland have been competing in the 4 round competition from October 31 to December 19. Events have included ski, board, swim and run, beach sprints, flags and relays.
Three rounds have been held with the fourth scheduled for Towradgi beach in the Illawarra on Saturday December 19.
Robert Hurley to take over Grant Hackett’s mantle?
21 year old Robert Hurley’s recent win in 1500m freestyle at Singapore World Cup meet over 1500m when he defeated Olympic champion Oussama Mellouliled Australian coach Alan Thompson to say that Australia’s strength in the 400m and 1500m may not have finished with the retirement of Grant Hackett. 20 year old Ryan Napolean is also emerging as a distance freestyle contender.

NSW Rugby League Academy 2010 players camp is to be held 18th - 21st January at Narrabeen.
