Seeing Stars

For the week beginning 22 June

New Moon at 1 Cancer 30

CANCER

This month’s New Moon in your sign can be a wonderfully potent time for you. Generally a time for new beginnings but with powerful Pluto in the mix you will need to eliminate some behavioural inclinations of clinginess, possessiveness etc first.

LEO

The Sun’s movement into your solar twelfth house brings a change of focus for the next month. Initially doubts and fears cloud your judgment but it is a precursor for a more introspective time.

VIRGO

Always one to take a cautious approach, start developing your plan of action and initiate discussions with those who can help you on your future path and achieving those goals you have set yourself.

LIBRA

The union of the lovers Venus and Mars not only adds a touch of the erotic but also increases the taste for luxury. It may be difficult but don’t allow feelings to override common sense.

SCORPIO

Power struggles may be unleashed this week as the Sun makes an opposition to Pluto, he of the underworld connections. Manipulation reigns supreme, make sure it is not you and keep your wits about.

SAGITTARIUS

Issues around money, loans or shared resources may become explosive this week but it will do you no good to deal with it while tempers are strong. Allow time for things to settle then reapproach.

CAPRICORN

Try to overcome those bouts of jealousy that may suddenly rise enveloping you in tendrils of envy. If you are able to focus on the source a reordering of priorities may eventuate.

AQUARIUS

Things that may have been brewing for a while come to a head this week forcing you to make a decision. Changes are needed and sometimes circumstances arise that leave us no room to manoeuvre.

PISCES

Confidence and self-esteem may take a bit of a nose dive at the start of the week but don’t be disheartened as the insecurities that arise highlight issues that you can start to deal with.

ARIES

When Venus and Mars come together in Taurus as they are currently you can rest assured that comfort becomes one of the main priorities. Don’t be surprised if that item you thought a luxury becomes a must have.

TAURUS

Try and balance your natural caution with action this week as you will find that once the initial hurdle as been jumped your powers of endurance come to the fore increasing your self confidence.

GEMINI

You may have to overcome a few delays or set backs before your plans get off the ground but don’t allow this to rattle you. With a bit of discipline you are able to reorganise and better prepare.

NEW MOON at 1 CANCER 30

23 June 2009 at 5.35am AEST

In our southern hemisphere with the winter solstice, a climatic point in the annual cycle is reached. The wheel moves where the shortest day meets the longest night in an everlasting interplay, which is a continually renewed drama. The long wintry nights signal a period of hibernation where the importance is on a strong foundation that is able to support, nourish and generate a nurturing environment.

This is the essence of Cancer, the sign most associated with the yin, feminine principle and the importance of home and family. As the fourth sign of the zodiac it is where we need to establish a nourishing foundation to support us throughout our lives. In your horoscope where the Moon falls at 2 degrees Cancer is where you could receive more support and be instrumental in supporting others.

New moons herald new beginnings and with the square to Uranus we see a shift and turning point occur, perhaps precipitated by Pluto, who shows us the need to look to the depths of our being, dredging up from the unconscious those secrets and fears of our shadow self. We are challenged to rid ourselves of the old before becoming rejuvenated with the new.

We see Venus and Mars conjoin for the second and last time this year, combining the feminine with the masculine in sensuous Taurus allowing us to enjoy the heat and passion of any given moment or activity.

The ability to expand one’s consciousness by stabilizing one’s point of view at a higher level.
